[My schedule will be updated soon. I apologise for the inconvenience]
I am a 26-year-old student, currently based in Japan.
I graduated from Bologna University in the Faculty of Letters, in 2020, with a thesis on Language Teachings.
I am now a student at Soka University, which I chose as I would like to acquire the educational method applied in this University, which I find incredibly valuable, as it put at the center the student and giving to him a primary importance, differently from an approach purely notional.
My desire is to contribute to transform the Italian educational system one day.

Me as a Teacher
Generally, I do not particularly love to have an approach too technical and notional. Rather, in my classes I'd rather have a conversation-based approach. In this way, the learner:
1. Can get used to the way Italian people speak in a daily basis;
2. Can learn how to express him/herself easily both in a formal and informal way;
3. Can learn to catch the main topic in a discussion (which is for me the most important element in the process of a language learning).
The question I always ask my students is: "How did you learn your first language?". Each of us can speak at least one language; hasn't this been acquired through listening and speaking? :)
My lessons & teaching style
The teaching method that I used mainly depends on the person, the personality, the level and the purpose (for example, a person who is learning Italian to obtain a linguistic certification has needs that differ from a person who is studying for hobby).
Generally, I would start with a lesson to get to know each other; here I can first of all evaluate the starting level, in order to decide together the goals and the parcourse to take.
I also use some materials to utilize within the class (in particular if I am asked to), such as PowerPoint, exam trials, and so on. Anyway, everything depends on the requests expressed by the learner.

What a wonderful lesson. Andrew is an excellent teacher. He knows how to make lessons interactive and he was well prepared. He is also very patient, easy-going, friendly and what is the most important he knows how to teach. Highly recommend 10/10.

He is friendly and knows well languages. Speaks English and Japanese, and it was helpful to understand when I don't get the meaning in Italian. He is a good teacher for beginners as well.
