About Me

My name is John, 33 years of age, and a current EMBA student of Quantic School of Business and Technology, USA. I possess a Bachelor's degree, as well as a Mini-MBA degree, coupled with a multitude of online certificates. Based in Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, my native language here is English. All my educational qualifications and my work life have been in English. Professionally, I have worked as a Salesman for the past 8 years, selling a variety of things from Pharmaceutical products, solar energy equipment, online courses, computer accessories, etc so I know what it takes to teach English professionally.

Me as a Teacher

I have been teaching the English language for the past 16 years, actually since 2006 to children and young learners. I basically have 3 categories of learners I am suitable for - Children from 1-9 years who are starting to learn the basics of the language; young learners from 10 - 19 years who are planning to take English language certifications exams like TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, etc and finally, adults who are fluent speakers of another language and willing to learn English professionally.

My lessons & teaching style

I basically adapt my teaching style to the category of learner I am currently teaching. For children, I go slow-paced and use a lot of visual teaching aids to activate their motor and sensory neurons to remember what they are being taught. For professional adults, I use a real-life approach to teaching by utilizing basic real conversational scenarios to teach the language. Thus, I am a well-grounded tutor who adjusts his style to suit the preference of my students.
