Hi I'm Ruth, I am adventure crazy, I love the outdoors and my biggest passion is exploring the beautiful world we live in! I also love learning about other countries, cultures, traditions and religions. I love meeting new people and learning from them. That's why I love italki. I can meet people from all over the world, share experiences and even help them to learn English. On the weekend you can find me camping on the beach, climbing mountains or spending time with my friends and family! I love traveling. I've lived in India, Ireland, Scotland and Cambodia and have travelled as much as possible around Asia and Europe. Please send me a message if you are interested in connecting!

Me as a Teacher

I'm an English tutor from Ireland! I have a Masters degree in Social Work. I primarily work with refugees in Ireland and my job allows me to meet people from all over the world. As most refugees are not native English speakers, I practice English with them everyday. I work with people from Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia, Algeria, Georgia, India, Vietnam and Nigeria to name but a few! I love helping the people I meet learn English. I have 3 years experience working with refugees and 1 year experience teaching English to children in a school in Cambodia. Between my stories and yours, we won't run out of things to talk about, I promise!

My lessons & teaching style

My teaching style is fun and relaxed. I love knowing that you are enjoying your class. Although fun is important, the main thing is that you are learning! This is very important to me. I taught English in a classroom for one year so I know how to make sure you are meeting your learning goals! I have worked with non-English speakers from all over the world, aged between 3 years old and 70 years old. I can teach people with a good level of English and those who are beginning their English journey.
