About Me

My name is Tara. I am a native English speaker currently living in the United States. Until 2020, I had lived and worked in the Middle East for 15 years. During that time, I lived in the Eastern province of Saudi Arabia for 14 years and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates for one year. Living abroad gave me the opportunity to travel the world. I enjoy traveling and meeting people from other cultures. I am a lifelong learner with degrees in biology and nursing and advanced degrees in public administration and executive leadership.

Me as a Teacher

I am a TEFL and TESOL certified English as a foreign language teacher. I have been teaching English as a foreign language for two years. I have a doctorate and I am board certified in nurse executive leadership with 25 years of experience in the medical and business industries. I am a published author in peer-reviewed journals and have a master’s degree in public administration.

My lessons & teaching style

The atmosphere in my classroom is welcoming and friendly where you will feel comfortable asking questions. This course is flexible and can be modified to suit individual learning needs. I use teaching tools to make the learning environment rich and substantive such as newspaper and magazine articles, pictures, video clips, and online academic resources. I engage students and challenge them to reach their full potential. You will have plenty of practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing as well as general conversations. The 1-on-1 class format helps students reach their goals. I embrace mentorship as my teaching style and will be your facilitator in your language fluency journey.
