Hey! My name is Lucas. I grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia and am half Indonesian, half Australian. English is my mother tongue as a result of international school and parents who speak fluent English. I also grew up speaking Indonesian due to the Indonesian side of my family and the country I lived in. Currently, I am studying in the Netherlands and learning Dutch. It was really at the start of my Dutch journey that I discovered my passion for learning languages. I thoroughly enjoy learning the culture and nuances that non-native speakers may not understand. In the down times, I have fun learning new recipes to cook and getting to know people from different backgrounds.Me as a Teacher
I am able to explain English words and sentence structures in a patient and clear manner with the focus of helping you understand and come to the understanding yourself. I do not want to give you all the answers as I believe that true learning comes from the student finding the answers themselves. Additionally, I am easy going and will make you feel comfortable and heard in our lessons!My lessons & teaching style
I am really excited to get to know you and learn what interests you about English! The main focus of my lessons will be helping you feel more comfortable and confident in speaking, writing and thinking in English. Thinking in English, in my opinion, is one of the best ways of learning the language as it forces your mind to work harder and get used to forming English sentences. Over time, this will result in fluency in both conversations and reading as you start to think like a native speaker!My teaching material
