I am from sunny Brisbane in Queensland, Australia. My family is from Peru, so while I am born and raised Australian, I have a culturally mixed background. I love warm weather, exploring the outdoors and swimming in the ocean. I am a registered lawyer in Australia and have a great passion for human rights. I am currently living in Peru to learn and practice spanish, so I also know how frustrating it can feel to try and express yourself in a new language. I think the main trick to learning a new language is confidence!

My qualifications in the English language: 1. Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice 2. Bachelor of Laws with Honours 3. Bachelor of Business My experience teaching English: * Jan 2022 - May 2022; I was employed through Spain's Ministry of Education to work as an English Lanugage Teacher in two primary schools in Andalucía. I developed engaging lesson plans to guide students with grammatical structures and pronunciation. * Jan 2019 - Feb 2019; I worked as a teacher in Bhutan to deliver lessons in English on Bhutan's legal framework to students aged 15 - 18. * Jan 2017 - Mar 2019; I provided English tutoring to a refugee family from Myanmar for both children and adults.

My lessons & teaching style

I am a bubbly and expressive communicator who likes to laugh and have fun. I think lessons are most effective when they captivate the interest of the learner. I want to find out what my student's interests are so that I can communicate lessons through topics that are fun. This could include global news, pop-culture, nature or arts. I focus on strategies that target a person's memory by creating a mental link or connecting images and sounds. When building conversation skills, I implement role-play techniques for different scenarios in day to day life and ensure there is variety in the vocabulary being developed.

I have had several classes with Jacque and highly recommend her for every level, she is a very effective professional. Jacque is a really great teacher!
