I am a sensitive person. I care about people --people around me and people who are far away. On the other hand, I get hurt easily and I tend to be too idealistic. But I have a good sense of humor and I am a good listener, too! If I were not a teacher, I might be a psychologist:).
I love travelling, experiencing life in other cultures and learning the language of the people I live with. Besides Argentina, I have had the chance to work in the Czech Republic, China and Tanzania. And I am looking forward to a new destination now!Me as a Teacher
Throughout the years, my students have said that I am very patient. I am proud of this because I believe patience is one of the most important assets a teacher can have. Since every student is different, I pay a lot of attention to individual preferences and needs. I know a lot about grammar, both of Spanish (my native language) and English (which I have learned and taught for decades), so I am happy to answer questions about grammar structures and rules anytime students ask for an explanation. I appreciate mistakes, too. They are evidence that a learning process is taking place. Being aware of our mistakes helps us move forward! I trust everybody can learn if they put their hearts into it.My lessons & teaching style
My classes are student-centered and communicative. Students engage in role plays and debates, sing or recite in the target language, express opinions and communicate in various kinds of tasks, combining right and left brain activities. Both language fluency and accuracy are crucial, so the emphasis of my lesson depends on what each student requires. I am familiar with quite a number of language games, which help them work on aspects they need to strengthen at the same time as they are having fun. This way I make sure that students gradually acquire more fluency and/or more accuracy while they remain motivated and maintain positive self-esteem.My teaching material
