My name is Erich Costa and I'm a 41 year-old teacher. I am from Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil, currently living in Praia Grande, Sao Paulo, Brazil. I have been teaching English for over 20 years and I have also taught Portuguese to foreigners along the way. I have also worked with translations from Portuguese to English and vice-versa, all my life. Working with translations has made me aware of the little things that can get you in trouble. I love movies, series, books, comic books, art, science, nature and pop culture in general. That is how I learned most of my English actually. And I will use all of those cultural references to teach you Portuguese too. It will surely be a lot of fun!

Me as a Teacher

I am a patient and dedicated teacher with over 20 years of experience working with Education, teaching all age groups (kids, teens and adults from all ages) with love and skill. I will use English to communicate, and help you learn Portuguese, using the 4 basic skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will be showing you the parallels between English and Portuguese and you will be able to understand and speak Portuguese in record time! Satisfaction guaranteed!

My lessons & teaching style

I will use English for communication, and preferably - but not exclusively - my own (free) virtual classroom platform to teach, which has a camera, an interactive board, and the possibility of sharing audio and video presentations. You can access it on your phone, laptop or desktop computer. I will use real-life material and coach you all the way with strong focus on the 4 main skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing in Brazilian Portuguese. We can and should adapt to whatever you want or need to know, like specific info and vocabulary in any given area.
