I am a professional teacher who works in Canada. Prior to teaching, I worked as a support worker for people with disabilities, so I'm familiar with assisting a diverse range of people!
I enjoy traveling and have lived in Singapore and Japan. While in Japan, I learned to speak Japanese and to play the koto. In addition to the koto, I also play piano and guitar. Playing music is one of my favourite hobbies, along with caring for houseplants and outdoor activities like camping. I love exploring new places and connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, as they are a natural part of the learning process, and I'm here to help you every step of the way. My goal is to help you gain fluency, build confidence, and develop clear communication skills. With 5 years of experience teaching both adults and teenagers, I specialize in helping people speak with fluency and communicate authentically in both formal and informal situations. From my own experience as a student learning Japanese and Spanish, I know that a textbook alone is not enough!My lessons & teaching style
Each class is tailored to your unique goals and interests. I focus on giving you practical advice and constructive feedback while also highlighting your strengths. I take teaching notes during class and send feedback in iTalki chat. I provide homework assignments and regular communication through feedback and progress updates.
My teaching style is Task-Based Language Teaching. This style has a large amount of student participation and conversation. It helps students gain confidence, fluency, and the ability to use English authentically. It also helps create critical thinking skills when speaking English and allows students to adapt to new conversations easier.My teaching material

Assistant Language Teacher Jet Progamme - Ishikawa PrefectureI taught at a public high school. I created lesson plans, assessments, managed classrooms, and proctored exams. I taught primarily as a team teacher with local Japanese teachers. I was also in charge of my own class alone occasionally. My teaching was formally assessed by members of the Board of Education a few times a year and I passed all the assessments with good comments.
