Hi there! Welcome to iTalki! My name is Vanessa. Are you new here? Me too! I am so excited to work with you on your English. Like some of you, I also had to learn English as a 2nd language. I started very young and eventually became bilingual. I have 13 years of bilingual customer service experience in many different work settings. I also have 2 years of experience as a professional Spanish/English interpreter and translator in education as well as for a professional interpreting company. I have learned so much, since working virtually, on how to help others just like you to communicate their thoughts and become confident when speaking with others. My teaching style is definitely adaptive and flexible when it comes to working with students one-on-one. Over time I've learned that we all learn/understand differently. This was a very important lesson for me because, as a teacher, it is my duty to you, as the student, to ensure that we start and end at the right place. With that said, I like to meet my students right where they are in regards to how much English they know or understand already. With a trial lesson, we'll get to know each other better. English Teacher Cambly Inc.Since working for Cambly, I have learned how to adapt to various learning styles and teach students from a wide range of ages from 10 - 60 years old. Learning about cultural backgrounds has also been most helpful, especially when first meeting a new student. I like to make them feel welcomed and help them rid themselves of any nervousness they may have as they embark on their journey to learn English. I want to make learning English as least scary as possible for my students.
