About Me

Hello! My name is John and I am originally from Austin, Texas in the United States. I was previously an engineer and worked at a large manufacturing plant in Austin for 3 years. I am currently a graduate student pursuing my PhD in Material Science. For this reason, I love talking about science and business and I enjoy incorporating that into my lessons. My hobbies include hiking, traveling, and board games. I am currently living in Italy for travel and to learn Italian. I love using my experience learning languages to help others learn English!

Me as a Teacher

I was recently certified and have experience in face-to-face tutoring for both ESL and other subjects. I am a needs focused teacher who believes in providing my students with skills, not just memorized lessons.

My lessons & teaching style

A first lesson will definitely include a needs analysis and a conversation about what the student wants to accomplish. I enjoy creating lessons to fit my students' needs.
