About Me

I have a Bachelors degree in French and a Masters in Foreign Language Education. Currently I am getting my PhD in education. For the past three years I have taught French (levels A1-B2) at a high school using the International Baccalaureate program, and 95% of the students I have taught have received the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy. This means that I was able to help 95% of my students reach the B2 level within three years.
I also taught English online with VIPKid for a year before coming to italki. I enjoy online teaching because it connects me to people from around the world. In addition to teaching, I am a swim and track coach, so I understand the importance of having fun when learning.My lessons & teaching style
I believe immersion is the most effective way to acquire a new language, which is why during my lessons I teach entirely in the target language. In lessons, I focus on high-frequency words and grammatical foundations through conversation and comprehensive input. My classes are conversation-based, but I also use videos, readings, and grammar activities.

2018 - 2021
French Teacher Raymore-Peculiar High SchoolI was a French as a foreign language teacher at the high school level for three years. During this time I won the Outstanding Beginning Teacher Award from the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (2019) and the Outstanding Future Foreign Language Educator Award from the Foreign Language Association of Missouri (2018).
As a French teacher I worked with students from the A1 to B2 levels. I am adept at modify materials and lessons for particular student needs.
