Hi I'm Laura! I am an English language teacher, aerialist, yogi, sailor, artist and model. I like hiking, rock climbing, music, circus, cooking, writing, reading, sailing, roller coasters and traveling. I have lived in Canada, South Korea and in the States (Seattle + NYC). I have performed as an actor on stages, in films and commercials. I have performed as an aerialist on stages, in studios, and once on a boat in NYC. I want to travel on my own boat someday and live more environmentally friendly.

I have over 5 years of teaching experience with aerial arts and yoga, to kids, youth and adults. I have taught group classes and private sessions.
I have over 2 years teaching languages. I taught English as a foreign language in kindergarten and elementary classrooms in South Korea. I also taught German in elementary classrooms in Seattle.
I have worked with 2 kids over the past 7 years and taught them basic development skills, assisted them with speech and occupational therapies, and assisted them with self expression and communication.My lessons & teaching style
My method for teaching English as a foreign language incorporates CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) and Multiple Intelligences. We will develop the 4 main language skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. My methods will accommodate various learning styles and integrate the different intelligences. My goal is to enable students to use and produce language and improve their communicative competence in an interactive and diverse environment.My teaching material

Work Experience
2009 - 2010
ESL Instructor Avalon EnglishElementary students were taught English through writing, reading and role playing exercises. Instructors had the freedom to make use of outside materials in addition to the program workbooks. I constructed and taught an acting class.
Pre-k students were taught English through singing, dancing and role playing exercises. Elementary students received private lessons in reading and writing.
Instructors administered speaking tests for new students.
2015 - 2020
Aerial Teacher Om FactoryLead classes for children, beginners and advanced students, of various skill levels and language backgrounds. Instruct students through poses and sequences safely. Work with students of various different body types and body modifications, to provide customized poses and sequences to help them develop their practice, strength and flexibility.
2015 - 2022
Childcare Professional FamilyCare for two boys. Assist kids with homework and speech and occupational therapy assignments. Organize fun and educational activities, and take them out to local parks and museums to improve their growth and development. Plan events with classmates, parents and other caregivers. Meet with parents weekly to discuss any issues or events and plan for the following week.
