Hi everyone! My name is Joaquin, I am 33 years old from Colombia, and I’m currently living in Medellin. As a teacher, I’m patient, and I like to make my students feel relaxed and comfortable. I strongly believe that this is a mutual give and take journey - as I share my knowledge of Spanish with you, I will also be learning a huge amount from you! I love travelling and learning about other different cultures, and share my knowledge and experiences in return. I’m incredibly passionate about languages, because I think that it opens the door to a different world, and thus also open your mind to new experiences! I’ve been teaching Spanish for about 2 years, and I’m certain that I’ll be able to assist you on your journey of learning Spanish. My classes are personalised according to your need – as no two learners are the same! I’ll be tailoring my classes to you according to your needs and goals. I like to get to know my students well, and believe the best way to learn is through a fun and relaxed environment. Therefore in my classes I’ll be trying to get to know you – what interests you, your hobbies, and anything else that you would like to share! I believe the best way to progress in a language is when you can converse in a wide range of topics.My lessons & teaching style
My classes are all conversational – so it is really important that you have an intermediate or advanced level of Spanish, in order to take full advantage of our time together. During our class, we can also take a look at some of the grammatical topics and any other questions that you may have – I’d like to adapt to your needs and interests! The best way to improve on your Spanish, is to always practice, practice and practice!. As your teacher, I will be giving you the confidence and security, to help you overcome the fear of making mistakes, and in no time, you will be speaking Spanish fluently!My teaching material

I enjoyed my first class with Joaquin so much that I signed up for three classes a week. Our conversations are a really enjoyable way to practice my Spanish. I was concerned about losing it but instead I am improving it. I highly recommend Joaquin as an instructor and a conversation partner.

¡Siempre es un placer tener clases con Joaquin! Como alguien que ha tenido cientos de sesiones en Italki, puedo decir con confianza que Joaquín es uno de los tutores más abiertos, positivos e interesantes que he tenido. Los estudiantes intermedios y avanzados en particular tendrían mucho que ganar con sus clases ya que sus clases son siempre muy dinámicas y cubre una amplia profundidad de temas, desde cuestiones sociales a los deportes. Yo animaría a cualquier estudiante que quiera mejorar su nivel de español a probar sus clases de conversación.
