Hi! My name is Steff, short for Steffan. I come from the UK (Britain), and I live in Cardiff, a small but lovely city in Wales. I've travelled a little in my life, to countries like Egypt, Morocco, the USA, Ecuador, and many European countries too. I've worked as a teacher for many years, at all levels. In my spare time I enjoy working out, playing guitar, reading, and taking long walks. My future goal is to travel more and see the world!

Me as a Teacher

I'm a CELTA-qualified English teacher, with a specialism in online teaching. I also hold a PhD (doctorate) in International Relations, and my masters and bachelors were also in the same subject. I taught at university for 6 years, both masters and undergraduate level. I've also taught mathematics and English at high school level, including private online tuition to high school children. All my references are available on request. I've taught adults and children from all over the world, both in person and online. In my city I taught Syrian refugee children privately in a volunteer capacity.

My lessons & teaching style

My academic background means I'm well-suited to teaching those who want to study at an English-speaking university and who need an IELTS qualification. I can also help with those seeking lesssons in business English, management English, or politics, diplomacy, government English in general. However, I'm also very good at teaching general English to anyone who wants to improve their basic conversational or reading/listening skills. I structure my lessons around coursebooks and many different types of materials, including audio, video, and interactive lessons. I like to teach language through real-life situations, as I believe this is more practical and enjoyable for students.
