About Me
italki teacher since Feb 28, 2022Me as a Teacher
I'm interested in helping people practice their English on italki because i’ve spent the majority of this past year living, traveling, and volunteering with non-native English speakers. While on a gap year from university, I’ve done work exchanges at hostels in Spain and Canada. In these experiences, I met almost zero Americans, and therefore learned how to communicate with and learn from people who come from different languages and cultures. I found it extremely rewarding, fun, and interesting to get to know these friends by attempting to speak their language or helping them to speak my own.My lessons & teaching style
I have experience with reading/writing tutoring to kids in Philadelphia, so I plan to use the same methods I learned in that job on here - by helping you!
A lesson might look something like this:
- Comprehension: You pick a topic, then I'll find an English video, article, podcast, poem, song, etc.. based on your interests.
- Conversation: We get to talk all about the topic you chose :)
- Further Practice: We will make flashcards, a worksheet, or some kind of material to help you practice vocabulary and grammar related to the topic in our conversation.My teaching material
