About Me
italki teacher since Mar 1, 2022
Hi! I'm Shota from Japan. And I'm 24 years old. I worked as a stage sound and lightning operator and now working at an Italian restaurant as a chef.
When I was a high school student, I went to New Zealand. Then I started to have an interest in English and I've been studying English for roughly 4 years.
Me as a Teacher
I would consider myself a sociable person, open-minded, and a good listener. Since I am also an English learner, I understand how learning another language is difficult. My priority is to give a comfortable atmosphere and an exciting experience for students.
My lessons & teaching style
I will adjust my way of teaching depending on your level.
Let me know your learning goal and I would love to be your help !
Maybe you noticed there is a big difference in phrases and vocabulary between learning materials and how native Japanese speakers speak. So, I will mainly teach the most natural expressions.
I’m looking forward to see you in my class!

일본어를 거의 모르는 입장에서 영어를 꽤 하시는 선생님을 만난 건 정말 다행스러운 일입니다~~! 음악 좋아하신다면 쇼타선생님이랑 한 번 수업해보세요!

今日のレッスンは楽しかったです!
I had a great first lesson with Shota san. He explains things really well and his explanations are easy to follow and remember. We covered a lot of topics in the lesson. Among other things, we talked about when to use keigo and when not to. I could see that he’s very thoughtful and thinks about what would be best for his students. 教えてくれてありがとうございました!
