Hi! I'm Mera, a native English speaker from the United States & an experienced English teacher of over a decade. I lived in New York and North Carolina before moving to Southeast Asia where I was offered a job to teach English as a second language at an international school. Through my experience as an educator, I have successfully developed effective language learning methods that aim to help my students become excellent conversationalists when speaking in English. I have years of experience conducting Advanced Business English, IELTS & TOEFL Exam Prep, Group Conversations and General ESL Lessons. I provide my students with guidance, encouragement and useful resources to help them strengthen their abilities to articulate their thoughts into words clearly, professionally, precisely and naturally. I help my students replace basic or repetitive words that they might have been overusing with more articulate and sophisticated words as well as phrases and expressions that Americans would naturally use. I would ask you questions about your profession/ business, education, country, traveling experiences, social life, achievements, future plans, hobbies, interests, your goals in learning English, your personal opinions on a wide variety of different topics, current events, etc. Then make necessary corrections as well as suggestions in your vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar which I always type in the italki chat during lessons so you can review them after the lesson is over. You would also have full access to my 'Conversation Lesson' Google Drive folder which consists of useful transition words, phrases, expressions and a variety of conversation topics + IELTS speaking practice questions.My teaching material

I had several dozen lessons with Mera. Mera is a very active teacher. She is prepared for every lesson. She is open to new ideas and encourages students to choose new conversation topics. But if students can't think of an idea, don’t worry, Mera always provides high-quality materials for many different topics. Mera's style is focused on natural talking because language is essentially talking. It's one way to check my words. Get cracking!
