I come from both the city π and suburbs π‘ of New York π½. I started teaching English π when I moved to Saint Petersburg, Russia π·πΊ. For several years, I taught English there, both in person π₯ and online π». Now, I work from my home π and enjoy helping people π« get better at communicating π£ more effectively in English worldwide π.
Outside of work, I like to do things I love β€οΈ. I work on voiceover projects π, act in theater plays π, and participate in films π¬. I also have hobbies like playing chess β, going for walks πΆββοΈ, drinking good coffee β, and spending time with friends π and family π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦.Me as a Teacher
I have two approaches π€ when it comes to teaching π:
The Communicative Approach π£: This approach emphasizes the use of real-life situations π and the development of communication skills π. It places a strong emphasis πͺ on the use of authentic materials π° and tasks that require learners to use language in a meaningful way π¬.
The Content-Based Instruction (CBI) Approach ππ: This approach emphasizes the use of authentic materials π and real-life situations π to teach language π£ and content π§ simultaneously. It is often used in subject-specific courses π§ͺπ¨ to help learners develop both language and content knowledge π.My lessons & teaching style
I also believe π€ that the classroom π« is where the active part of learning π§ should take place. You may do some preparation π before the lesson so that our time β³ spent together is used more effectively β¨. Before the lesson, you would have your first look π at a new language or a video πΊ, and then get ready π for what is going to happen during our class which lets us produce new language π£ and having fun π! =)
