About Me

Hello, I am Sade, I am 32 years old and in 2012 I obtained my Bachelor's degree with honours, in European Languages and Cultures in Catania, Italy. I have taught Italian and English for over 10 years as a private teacher, to both children and adults and I work as a supervisor at the Cambridge Assessment English Exams. I am a also writer and filmmaker, I love travelling and learing about other people's life visions. I love to be in the nature and I seek beauty and joy in everything I do. I'm interested in spirituality and art in all forms, and I'm curious to learn about as many things as possible. I'm also very good at cooking so if you want some Italian recipes I'm the one for you :)

Me as a Teacher

I am patient and encouraging, for I belive the biggest limit when learning a foreign language is fear! It's important to practice in order to get better at any skill in life, and when it comes to languages feeling comfortable enough to make mistakes is key to achieve any kind of progress. I don't really like to use grammar books, except as a guide, for, at least in my experience, text books make learning often overwhelming and sometimesboring. I prefer to talk and use conversation as a base to pinpoint rules and their use in the language itself.

My lessons & teaching style

I make sure to keep things light, and I like to create a friendly interaction with my students so learning doesn't feel like a task but rather like a fun exchange of information. I have found music and films to be a great way to add vocabulary and learn grammar rules through applied language, especially when it comes to informal conversational skills. When possible, I also like to compare the rules we encounter with those of the student's native language. I like to find personal ways for my students to fully understand the reasons behind a correct language choice and reinforce the concept through practical examples.
