About Me

My name is Josselyn, I'm 27 years old, grew up in the Netherlands, studied in Breda and currently live in a small town in South Africa. I spend my days teaching Dutch, online and in person and helping small local companies out with marketing their businesses. Outside of work, travelling, exploring new places, taking my dog to the beach & going for dinner are my favourite hobbies!

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher I want to focus on making the lessons fun and specific to the interests of the student. For example, I have students who read Harry Potter in Dutch and then we translate it sentence per sentence to English, I have students that follow the curriculum of ''Nederlands in Gang'', students that want to practise for the ''Staatsexamen'' or ''Inburgeringsexamen'' and even students that book just to chat about either their life, interesting topics or news articles. It all depends on what you like and prefer!

My lessons & teaching style

When it comes to learning a new language, I think consistency is very important. That's why, if you want to learn Dutch from 0, I would always recommend two hours a week or more. If you have a certain level of Dutch already, and you just want to chat for example, an hour a week is perfect for that. My aim is for the classes to be fun and exciting, all based on your interests and preferred style of learning which we can chat about in the first class. Send me a message and let's get learning!

Josselyn is the best. She was very flexible and attentive even before starting our lesson, and during the lesson I felt very warm and comfortable. I asked her to do a conversation-type of lesson even though my level is quite low, but she did an awesome job at keeping the conversation flowing and prompting me to speak about different things. Absolutely loved it!
