About Me

My name is Iryna Halasa. I am a pretty ambitious personality with my own vision of world realities. I do love teaching English, going in for sports, drinking delicious coffee, and spending time with my family and friends. I am a perfectionist. And it's one of my weaknesses. Nothing than perfection will do :) I am a highly motivated teacher, mother, and wife. All things I do are done with love and respect for the people around me.

Me as a Teacher

I adore teaching. I have been involved in it for almost 18 years. I got my Ph.D. in Linguistics and now serve as an Associate Professor at the university. I do feel happy about the profession I have chosen. My professional experience also includes internships at the universities of Sweden, Poland, Hungary, Denmark, and the USA. Harvard University scholarship was one of the biggest achievements in my life. I also took part in numerous conferences and summer schools. Teaching is about emotions. Teaching is about being professional. Teaching is about life-long learning.

My lessons & teaching style

I usually adjust the curriculum to a definite student depending on his/her goals, temperament, and results deadlines. Now I use Trello for organizing all materials. Some of the most widely used techniques at my classes are video/audio for discussions, new vocabulary for the level of language improvement, and grammar supported with exercises/tests for polishing skills of communication.
