About Me

Hello, My name is Alicia. I am a patient and friendly English teacher. I am from England and I have a neutral English accent so I am easy to understand. I have experience teaching adults and children online for over 2 years and I have received a lot of positive feedback. I am from a big family and I have been surrounded by children all my life either at home or at work as a childminder. I have been learning Mandarin for almost 2 years so I understand that learning a language is rewarding but also very challenging. I love to travel and to learn about new cultures and cuisines. I am excited to meet you and to learn about your language journey and how I can help you improve.

Me as a Teacher

My lessons are fun and relaxed. I can help you or your child feel comfortable and confident in speaking English. My goal is to enable you or your child to express themselves and grow in ability and confidence. I encourage speaking as much as possible. I can help with clear pronunciation, accent, intonation, and introduce you to idioms and native slang. My classes are adapted to you and your preferences .

My lessons & teaching style

Every student learns differently and has different strengths and weaknesses so my lessons are personalised to you.Here are some of the types of lessons we can have. 1) I can provide a topic and we can talk naturally on that topic whilst i correct any mistakes and keep the conversation flowing. 2) I can provide a more structured lesson using the "Let's Go" textbooks for children or ESL curriculum from "ESL Pals" . I encourage you to book a trial lesson with me first, so i can meet you and learn more about your English level and language goals.

English Teacher PalfishPalfish - Waterford, IrelandI worked on this platform as a professional English teacher. Teaching English to Chinese children aged 2-18. I prepared the material provided and presented fun and engaging classes to all my students. I played games and sang songs with my young students and kept them motivated and engaged so they had fun as they learnt.
