Hello, welcome to my page, I’m William Linfoot and I’m a CELTA qualified teacher from a town in Northern England called Harrogate, or 'Arigut' as we call it. I currently live in Barcelona where I teach English at the largest private English academy in Catalonia.
My university education was spent in one of the highest-ranking universities in the UK, the University of Leeds. Well regarded as a Russell group uni, this is where I studied English literature and honed my skill with the English language by studying topics such as Renaissance, Romantic, Civil War, Modern, Contemporary, and Posthuman Literature.
My current joys in life reside in books, music, and politics (although not much joy caMe as a Teacher
The best part of teaching for me is getting to know so many people from all over the world! I take as much from my lessons by meeting you, as you do from learning English from me. As such, I'm always relaxed and approachable, friendly, and communicative in class.
I've been teaching for many years so don't worry about me being new at this, it's not the case. I learn very quickly what my students need and where they could improve their levels in which areas.
We will go at your pace. If you want to really crack on and get that exam passed, we can do that. Similarly, if you'd like to just have a relaxed conversation talking about interesting topics, or even just your day, we can!My lessons & teaching style
Although I teach various exam levels such as B2 First Certificate or C1 Cambridge Advanced, I also teach speaking and listening lessons every week where my students and I take a more relaxed approach to English learning.
As such I can prepare you for official Cambridge exams, IETLS, or any other English language certificate you’ve got your eye on.
As I have extensive experience teaching adults and children in both formal and casual approaches, we can have a more grammar-focused lesson or a more conversational one where we talk about a topic relevant to you and your interests. I'll always keep your preferences in mind; language learning is collaborative.My teaching material

English Teacher Cambridge SchoolI currently hold a position as a full-time, permanent English Teacher in the largest private teaching academy in Catalonia.
I'm responsible for the learning of students ranging between the ages of 9 - 65.
I teach three A2 child levels, one group of B2 teens, and a group of B2 adults, as well as a range of speaking/listening classes and private one-to-ones.
Certificates
CELTA International House Barcelona 2019120 hours of observed teaching hours and multiple academic level essays were required to achieve this certificate from the University of Cambridge. It allows me to teach English as a foreign language.

William is a nice person, he talks very clearly, he is not pushy and answers your questions. He helped me to become more aware of my weaknesses which helped me to focus on them. In preparing to take IELTS, time is everything, so it is a good thing when a teacher like William helps you in the process.
