Hello, my name is Cary and I'm 64 years old and recently moved to the Philippines. I am a native English speaker and teach English. I have been an ESL teacher since 1994 when I spent 11 years teaching in Japan. More recently I spent two years teaching in Thailand at a private school.
Other interests and experience include; construction, mechanics, music, I play guitar, ukulele and harmonica, gardening, motorcycles, sailing, I lived on a sailboat for a year and travel.Me as a Teacher
I have a degree in Theology: BTh, From Horizon Seminary in Saskatchewan and the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada 1985
TEFL Certified at WECI Institute in Hua Hin, Thailand 2018
I have taught English in Japan where I have experience with NOVA Language Institute, Junior High School, High School, College and Universities.
I also taught English at high school in Chumphon, Thailand and later moved to a private school where I was a grade 2 homeroom teacher also in Chumphon, Thailand.
I began teaching online in 2020 during the pandemic in Thailand and then continued to do so in the Philippines.My lessons & teaching style
I have a variety of lessons to use for new learners. If you are wanting to increase your fluency I like to use various topics and sometimes news articles designed for English practice. I will help you increase your vocabulary, improve your pronunciation and feel more confident about your speaking ability. If you are pursuing new employment I can help you prepare for the interviews.
I also do IELTS material if you are preparing for one of their exams.
