As a native-English speaker growing up in New York City, the constant exposure and cross-cultural exchange of ideas, languages, food, music, religions, and traditions from all around the world has cultivated my curiosity and open-mindedness. Meeting learners from all walks of life who wished to hone their English skills ignited my passion for teaching the lingua franca of the world. For me, the most rewarding aspect of teaching is witnessing my students grow and make substantial progress in their language journey. Additionally, I really enjoy the arts, poetry, and reading about philosophy, technology, and psychology. I currently live in the river city of Koln, Germany.

Me as a Teacher

As a teacher with 5+ years experience, I've taught and mentored 1-1 and in in-classroom settings to enhance the confidence of students to communicate in English. I know how daunting it can be to express your thoughts and ideas in a new language, a big part of that is also listening. This is why I find it vital to prepare you for everyday situations. My approach builds rapport and flow. As a patient, enthusiastic, and empathetic teacher, I know learners absorb material best when they're relaxed and having fun. Through our collaboration, I can ensure a dynamic and creative learning environment. I use a wide variety of methods to ensure optimal learning based on your learning styles and needs.

My lessons & teaching style

I believe learning a new language and retaining it requires not only motivation and consistency but also guidance through frequent use and exposure. I focus on building vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. My specialization is in conversational English but also English for specific purposes like advancing reading, listening, and writing comprehension to studying abroad, travel, socializing, and all topics related to academic and business purposes. Initially, I learn about your interests, as well as your short-term/long-term goals to devise skill-specific lessons to support you in your language journey. I am excited to work with you to help you achieve your goals!
