About Me

Hello all! My name is Cedric. I grew up in the middle of two worlds. On one side there was Suriname, a young dutch speaking country in South America and France on the other side with it's rich history and language. I have also had the opportunity to visit and live in different other countries along the years. This has lead me to learn a few languages but has mostly fueled my interest in traveling and my love of learning new things, meeting new people or discovering new cultures. I see these courses as a way to continue doing all of these things but also as a way to give back and hopefully give some of you the tools to do some of your own exploring.

Me as a Teacher

I am a very relaxed person and I'll do my best to create a comfortable and safe space for you to practise your languages. I've been in your shoes, I know how difficult it can be to speak another language and work up the confidence to talk to people. I promise to be patient and to gently correct you on the mistakes you may make. All in all, let's work together in order to improve your languages through one of the aspects of language learning which I consider to be one of the most important ones: Conversation.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons are focused on conversation. Through nice and interesting conversations on topics of your choosing, we'll build up your confidence as well as your vocabulary. I like to use articles or video clips to work on your understanding and use that to fuel our conversations. At the end of the lessons I'll also provide you with some new vocabulary and other points of focus for our next session. Through our initial exchanges we'll discuss your reasons for learning the language and then we can work on setting objectives as well as an adapted structure to our sessions. NOTE: I DO NOT DO TEST PREPARATION!
