GOAL ORIENTED COLLEGE STUDENT WITH 5 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN TUTORING KIDS AT CHURCH
About Me
italki teacher since Jun 7, 2022
Hi! My name is Miles, and I enjoy dancing, singing, listening to music, reading books, and watching movies or K-drama series. I am now pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am fluent in Tagalog and Hiligaynon, yet I still have a lot to learn because my country has so many dialects! My ambition is to be successful one day.
Me as a Teacher
I have tutored children before. For five years, I volunteered at our Church, where children learned about God’s theology, man’s duty, faith, the Ten Commandments, sacraments, and prayer. Despite the fact that I was the one teaching, I learnt a lot from my young students, who showed me that everyone’s struggles are different and every kid is unique. I enjoyed meeting my students’ needs and watching them grow and succeed as a result of their efforts. I appreciate breaking down topics in a way that makes them easier to understand.
My lessons & teaching style
I prefer to start with the most basic issues and work my way up so that tutoring is specific to the students’ needs. I find out if the student wishes to work on their pronunciation or engage in some conversation practice, for example.

Silas Lee Music
1 Filipino (Tagalog) lesson
She's genuinely fantastic. Before the lesson started she drafted up some introductory phrases in tagalog with translations, and helped me pronounce the words as well as translate them. She even began explaining conductor phrases like "ng" at the end of certain words, which is really helpful when first learning tagalog. Her lesson was extraordinarily thorough and effective, even though it was just a beginner thing. I feel like I learned a lot in the short time we were speaking. She's really fun too so it didn't even feel like 30 minutes. I absolutely suggest her for any English speaker trying to learn tagalog.
