Hello, my name is Khrystyna and I'm from Ukraine. Since 2021 I have been living and teaching Ukrainian in the USA. I like travelling, reading and learning foreign languages. I'm also interested in neurolinguistics and exploring modern and efficient methods of teaching.Me as a Teacher
I have 7 years of teaching experience in Ukraine and 2 years in the USA. I have a Master's (2015) and a PhD degree (2018) in Ukrainian language. The plan for language studying is developed individually for every students, depending on their interests, learning needs and time they have to fulfil their goals. You don't have to buy a textbook. If you want to learn Ukrainian - you will get all the materials you need in the class, and we will choose the pace of learning which is convenient for you.My lessons & teaching style
My teaching is mainly based on communication since I'm sure that it works!
I try to develop all 4 language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. However, each learner knows how important it is to overcome barriers of communication and reach the desired level of language fluency.
In my understanding, the vocabulary of any language is like bricks, while the grammar rules are knowledge of how to develop a conversation. Therefore, my main goal as a teacher is not only to make students know the vocabulary but also to teach them to use these words to communicate.
The guided discovery approach is also the one that helps to make my lessons more interactive and interesting.My teaching material
