Learning a new language is a bit scary, right? You need a person that will steer you in the right direction and nurture your growth. If the language you are learning is Xhosa then I am that person! I am a young professional all the way from South Africa, Eastern Cape, born and bred. Xhosa is my home language. I was born and raised into a family that speaks the language. I am going to take you from the basics of making the simplest conversations in Xhosa, to understanding complex expressions.

Me as a Teacher
For me, teaching is more than just a profession. I am driven by the idea of acquiring knowledge to later share it to others in a manner that will make their lives easier. I have tutored first-year university students for three years and have also held extra classes for high school learners. Interacting with my students to find out the level in which they are in terms of understanding a concept has always been my first approach towards teaching. This is the same approach I take with my Xhosa classes, to touch base with you on your proficiency level first, then we curate lessons that are fit specifically for your study needs.
My lessons & teaching style
Everyone is different. This means that there is no "one size fits all" learning approach. When I engage with students, I like to first find out what learning approach works best for them before I can impose my techniques on them. I like to create an atmosphere that allows free engagement and expression. My Xhosa classes will manifest mostly in conversational lessons because "practice makes perfect". The best way to learn a language is to speak it more often. I will also have short reading exercises.
