My name is Doreen Nekesa. I was born and bred in Kenya and I live in Nairobi. I am a mother of two beautiful children. Having lived in Nairobi city which is home to more than 42 tribes including foreigners like ex-pats who speak different languages, I understand how challenging it can get to navigate in regards to communication. I love working around people and with people. I enjoy writing and creating both educative and entertaining content. I also make good use of the time I spend with my kids by teaching and training them a diversity of skills.Me as a Teacher
I have a solid background in teaching having acquired my education bachelor's degree from the University of Nairobi. I have 4 years of teaching experience in a classroom setup and also taught online mostly during the pandemic. Additionaly, I have taught and trained individuals informally and further gained more online experience streaming with the Heygo tourism platform. On heygo, I educated and entertained a big team of voyagers from all over the world about my Kenyan culture. From there, I managed to start my own Youtube channel where I teach my local language and also also educate young parents on matters of parenting. Consequently, I am an all-round teacher.My lessons & teaching style
I am a teacher who capitalizes on the learner-centered kind of learning. I like looking at my learner as differently talented and therefore, given an opportunity, they are capable of exploring their environment and learning in the most comfortable and friendliest way. I am a guide who guides my learners and not a know it all kind of teacher. I would recommend a trial class for any learner who is looking to join my class. That way I am able to gauge their level of proficiency hence getting to know where exactly to start and how to structure the lessons.My teaching material
