This teacher's excellent understanding of American English idiom really helps him to explain Vietnamese idiom with parallel examples in both languages. Wish I had focused on his Advanced Vietnamese class earlier!

Thiên's profile video really stood out for me, so I knew I had to book a class with him. It was when he said "If you are bored of Northern or Southern accent then I might be a good choice." Having something other than Northern or Southern accent to offer students is not what makes him a good choice. Thiên strikes as really humble and sincere. He was very enthusiastic and supportive. Even if I couldn't express everything I wanted to say in Vietnamese, he encouraged me to say it in English. He would then translate it into Vietnamese and break it down. After not having any classes for a couple of weeks, I confess I wasn't feeling very motivated but after our class started I immediately forgot all about that.

Van is so lovely! He makes the atmosphere very casual and relaxing while guiding you through the material. It was my first tutor lesson ever, as well as my first lesson in Vietnamese. I was so nervous! but, he walked me through everything slowly and gently with words of encouragement. I look forward to meeting with him again for the next lesson. If you are an anxious person like me and you're afraid to book a lesson - I would very much recommend him. I've already learned important things and I'm starting to feel more comfortable already even after one session. (:

Mr. Thiên Văn is a great tutor. He is always prepared for the lessons and have very colorful presentations which made me focus more and feel more positive. We did few conversation practices in order for me to memorize new vocabulary. Therefore, it ensured me to keep using them on my daily life with my family. He was always patient and answered every question I had or translated words I didn’t know. I am grateful that I had the chance to meet this person who makes me feel like I achieved something by joining his course. I hope you might also consider him as your tutor. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed ;)

I felt very lucky to be one of his student because the way he treated me during the lesson made me feel more confident in improving myself in speaking Vietnamese. Mr. Thiên Văn was very patient and gave me good feedback on my mistakes. What surprised me the most is the prepared materials that suited my level of Vietnamese, and each time I was like “How does he know that I don’t know this?” which made me trust him even more as my tutor. I believe that with his help, I might even become a Vietnamese teacher, if I keep improving lol
