First, a note on scheduling: if the listed times don't work for you send me a message and we'll find something that does!
I've spent much of my adult life around (written and spoken) Japanese at this point, and have also spent a lot of time learning other languages, too. Hopefully I can share some of my enthusiasm with you! In general, I tend to take on three different kinds of students (see next tab...)
Me as a Teacher
1. Beginners/false-beginners in Japanese - I'm certified to teach Japanese at the university level, and have been helping people get a grip of the basics for a long time.
2. Intermediate learners of Japanese looking to work on their pitch/intonation, and/or reading abilities.
3. Self-driven language learners of all levels looking for some guidance on the path to acquiring or maintaining a language, or just looking for someone experienced to put together an effective study plan, or someone bored or frustrated with their study routines looking for something different.
My lessons & teaching style
In general, I work best with students who are looking to take their learning into their own hands. I prefer to guide students to materials and effective practices that they can use on their own, and come to me with their own questions to stimulate a motivated conversation about language (grammar, etc.), rather than working systematically through a grammar-oriented textbook on a weekly basis (although we can do that too, if you insist).

Well I took his Japanese class as a substitute, since I made a wrong schedule with native japanese teacher. with him being a westerner I didn't expect a lot but contrary to my thought, learned way more. He's really good at catching mistakes and explaining the grammar. his class is definitely worth a try.

Daniel is an amazing linguist and he shared some great resources and practice techniques. Take the opportunity to study with and learn from a knowledgeable polyglot! Look forward to reading premodern Japanese literature soon.
