Hello! 👋🏼 I am a creative and dedicated young teacher who is deeply passionate about children, books, literature, cinema, traveling, arts and culture, and languages. I am an English degree holder and a certified TEFL educator. I love traveling, hiking, exploring cities, meeting different types of people, and sharing stories. I am also into writing (blog or poetry), but I feel most rewarded whenever I teach and know that I have helped and inspired others get better in speaking a language. I have pursued different roles throughout my life such as being a tutor to young learners, a customer support professional, and as an exchange/expat.Me as a Teacher

My lessons are focused on improving learner's Speaking Skills. I have a Creative Teaching Style which is not structured out of a textbook but lessons that are:
- engaging
- tailored to learner types
- appropriate to age/background/level
- well-prepared
I incorporate speaking activities such as Student Talks and Extended Discussion under topics of interests and realistic contexts to build confidence in speaking in the target language. I can also use different types of resources and authentic materials such as images, articles, news, videos to make classes fun and interesting. And depending on the student's needs, I can provide homework assignments, corrections and feedback.5.0

Charese is a wonderful tagalog teacher. As a heritage learner, I have some fossilized grammar mistakes and I have some gaps in vocabulary, but she still understands what I'm trying to say and helps me practice saying it correctly and more fluently. I enjoy practicing my tagalog with her!

I have been practicing Tagalog verb conjugations with her and it's been super helpful. I've been doing sentence creation drills with all the past present future tenses of the actor-focus, locative-focus, and object-focus forms and their corresponding markers. Really good practice to unlearn fossilized errors and to acquire the correct forms.

Cherise is a great tagalog teacher! She helps me practice the grammatical patterns that I am weak at with some drills and also helps me practice polite/professional tagalog speech, since I communicated to her that that was my goal.
