Hello everyone! My name is Ilonka and for the last few years, I have developed my passion to teach Bulgarian - my native language! Throughout these years I have taught children and people of different ages. Even if you can't read the Cyrillic alphabet you are welcome here! You will already know how to pronounce every letter from the Bulgarian alphabet within one lesson with me! If you already know Bulgarian you can always improve your speaking and listening skills through conversations on various topics of your choice! My students define me as a positive, patient, and energetic person. I love a fun and engaging environment so if you do too, let's explore. Очаквам те! 🙂

Me as a Teacher

I am really calm and understanding teacher. I am passionate about my native language and will be more than happy to help you learn it! I have a soft but still energetic teaching style. No matter your Bulgarian level there is always a way to improve it. I love teaching my students from beginner to advanced, online or in-person. I am positive and friendly with everyone, we can go at your own pace and still achieve great results!

Depending on the lesson, my students can expect a different format. 📌 If you want to practice conversational Bulgarian, you can book Conversation practice without or with corrections. In these lessons, we will discuss topics of your interest, I can tell you more about Bulgaria, Bulgarians, and our culture! 📌 If you don't know Bulgarian or want to go deeper into grammar or specific linguistic topics, you can book the Personalized Bulgarian course. In these lessons, I will create a personal action plan for you!
