About Me
italki teacher since Dec 23, 2022
Hello! I am Miloš. I come from Požega, a small town in the Western part of Serbia. I had graduated from the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade with a major in South-Slavonic literature and Serbian language. I continued my studies in Usti nad Labem, the Czech Republic. Recently, I graduated from master’s studies of Photography and Time-Based media. In this way, I am striving to expand my theoretical and practical knowledge and scope of further professional development. Apart from those formal facts, I am keen on photography, film, reading fiction and theory literature, writing, language games, semiotics and linguistics. I am also interested in sports, such as swimming, chess and cycling.
Me as a Teacher
Based on the theoretical knowledge I gained during the study courses of Methodology of Teaching, I had an opportunity to collaborate with multiple elementary and high schools. Supervised by professors from my faculty and teachers from partner schools, I had guidance through the entire process of preparation of lessons, practical part — lectures and after-school activities. Formal education gave me a broad knowledge and a solid base for further practical skills development necessary for teaching literature and language. Innate curiosity and an exploring spirit allowed me to expand my knowledge and upgrade my teaching skills.
My lessons & teaching style
In teaching practice, I use official textbooks and workbooks. Besides formal books, I prefer to use every other text that students and I find relevant and exciting. I assume this approach is a bit more creative and relaxing for students. Using various kinds of reading, watching and listening materials is of significant help in the learning process as well. Grammar is an inevitable part of the learning process, but it does not need to be boring. We can learn grammar imperceptibly alongside our conversation or vocabulary exercises. If you want to be a really badass Serbian language speaker/writer, we can learn the Cyrillic script, too.
