About Me
italki teacher since Mar 5, 2023
Hello, my name is John, and I am a native Kenyan. Swahili is my native language, and I enjoy teaching and assisting others in learning it. Learning a new language, in my opinion, opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. My goal is to make the process of learning Swahili fun and enriching for my students. I approach teaching with patience and friendliness, and I am always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that my students can speak and understand the language fluently. I am excited about the opportunity to share my Swahili knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Me as a Teacher
Swahili is my native language, and as a Kenyan, I have a deep understanding of the language and its intricacies, which I use to make learning fun and engaging for my students.
My lessons & teaching style
I focus on three lessons;
1. Swahili Grammar for Beginners and Intermediates; Sarufi ya Kiswahili.
2. Basics for Swahili Speaking, Reading, and Writing.
3. Conversing in Swahili.
My teaching style is student-centered, which means that I focus on each student's unique needs and assist them in progressing at their own pace. I believe that immersion and practice are the best ways to learn a new language, so I motivate my students to use the language to the fullest extent as possible in and out of class. To make the learning experience dynamic and enjoyable, I also employ a range of teaching techniques such as games, role-playing, as well as multimedia.
