About Me
italki teacher since Mar 6, 2023
Studying multiple different languages and living in different countries has taught me both how fun and necessary it is to have a good teacher.
Other than languages I'm really interested in literature and history. Recently I have also taken up an interest in movies.
Me as a Teacher
I do my best to create a safe environment where the student feels safe enough to make mistakes and ask questions. I am patient and do not mind repeating stuff or explaining something multiple times. Due to my deep knowledge of Norwegian grammar, I am also able to give in-depth explanations instead of the infamous "that's just how it is".
My lessons & teaching style
I tailor my lessons to my student's level. That includes speaking slower and using easier words when speaking to someone who's just starting out, and, if the student wishes, speaking my native dialect with more advanced learners.
I want to engage my student by finding interesting topics to talk about, for example, Norwegian culture and history. In order to not interrupt the flow of conversation, I will take notes that we review together at the end of the lesson.
It's also possible to get more structured lessons, where I go through a specific topic in Norwegian grammar or phonology that you find difficult. To keep the student engaged, these lessons will include plenty of practice.
