You may call me Jay-Ar, that’s my nickname. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Science and Nursing and I am a Philippine Registered Nurse, currently working as an online ESL for the Medical English Teacher position. I am teaching healthcare professionals from various countries such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. I have also an experience in a Business Process Outsourcing or BPO company for more than 5 years, a Pharmacovigilance company that serves the United States. I am capable to multi-task and I can work independently or with a team. I am open to challenges and opportunities. I am a self-motivated person, a smart worker, goal-driven and dedicated.Me as a Teacher
I am a Nurse by profession and by heart and we are trained as a health educator besides of working in the patient bedside. We are molded to be empathetic, flexible, collaborative, respectful and patient professionals and I strongly believe that these qualities are a paramount to be an effective and efficient teacher. I am adaptable when I teach. I ensure that it is always in the best interest of my students to learn and adapt the learning day by day. I continuously evaluate what’s working for my students and even more importantly, what isn’t working. It allows me to flow between different theories of learning and modes of teaching.My lessons & teaching style
I would describe my teaching style as coaching. Instead of offering answers to my student, I try to ask the right questions, and with the help of demonstration the student should find the answers. This is how I do it in my ESL job. I evaluate the knowledge of my students and I fill in the gap.My teaching material
