I m Babalwa, my nickname is Babz. I love the outdoors, meeting new people and reading. I am fluent in English as well as Xhosa. This is because I grew up in a Xhosa speaking family, whilst attending English speaking schools. From a very young age, I would lose myself in books. My father encouraged reading both English and Xhosa books.Me as a Teacher
As a teacher, I focus on your needs and your reasons for wanting to learn the language. I will help with pronounciation, reading and vocabulary. Xhosa is not a language you directly translate, as we say, asitolikwa isiXhosa.
I believe we all learn at different paces, and having taught people for the last five years, I have come to learn to work with the individuals strenghts and needsMy lessons & teaching style
I use flashcards, images and reading material to teach.
Where one wants to learn pronounciation, we will have a simple conversation, where I will help with pronounciation.
I assign homework and encourage reading. This will help me see how much you have understood from the lesson, and where you still need help.My teaching material
