I am a professional Actress in Peking Opera and a preserver of traditional Chinese culture. I hail from a family rooted deeply in the theatre arts, beginning my training in Peking Opera at the age of five. I studied Peking Opera performance at China's top-ranked drama academy starting from middle school. Later, I earned my bachelor's degree in opera directing from the Shanghai Theatre Academy. I possess extensive experience in both theatrical performance and directing and hold master's degrees in theatre performance from both China and the UK.Me as a Teacher
I have extensive experience teaching acting, where I teach students line work, singing, physicality, and theatre performance classes. I work with primary and secondary school students, university students and social workers. I can help you with your Mandarin pronunciation as it is very important to be a professional Peking Opera performer, and my pronunciation can be used in any Mandarin-speaking area.
Having experience living in the UK, I am well aware of the process that second language speakers need to go through. I can help you improve gradually.My lessons & teaching style
I offer pronunciation guidance courses for speaking, as well as courses in Chinese Opera. I can teach Peking Opera, Kun Opera, and Yue (Shanghai) Opera, allowing you to experience the theatrical cultures of different regions in China while learning the language.
I also provide conversational courses and welcome chats in Mandarin. I'm also fluent in English, so you don't need to worry about vocabulary limitations. I can guide you through everyday language usage.
I offer practice courses with Chinese theatrical scripts. I will provide you with script excerpts that performing arts students from China's drama universities practice with. This will greatly enhance your communication skills.My teaching material
