I'm a passionate teacher that likes to meet people from all over the world. Transferring knowledge through teaching is one of the things I love to do most. For me, speaking another language opens up doors that would otherwise remain shut. It has given me the opportunity to see the true life of local people and being invited into their homes. I grew up in the Netherlands and lived the majority of my life in Groningen. For a long time I knew I wasn't going to stay there because I wanted to participate in making our world a little bit better. So I decided to move to Indonesia. Here I'm involved in volunteer projects and conservation work in addition to my work as a Dive Instructor.Me as a Teacher
My teaching experience started about 9 years ago with teaching in Dentistry, diving and first aid. Three very different subjects but the communal factor is sharing knowledge. I have a special interest in teaching people who are a bit afraid or had a bad experience. It makes it even more rewarding when they reach their goal in the end. Favorite quote: "A teacher can touch the future"
A regular day for me means switching from English to German to Dutch and Indonesian while teaching.
In my spare time I like to educate local children about the importance of a healthy ocean and show them the beauty of it with underwater images.My lessons & teaching style
There is not only one teaching style for me because it all depends on what kind of student I have. So let's make a plan together that works for you. I'm flexible and creative and use song lyrics, books, games and quizzes to keep the lessons interactive and fun.
