Hello! Hejsan!
My name is Christer, and I am born and raised in the United States. I like to cook, learn languages, politics, football (Soccer in the US), skiing, music, and learning about other cultures and languages. I currently attend College in the US, but am planning on moving to Sweden quite soon to attend Law School. My father is from a Scandinavian background, and I began to learn Swedish and Norwegian at the age of 12. Since then, I have become very proficient in Swedish, and can speak Danish and Norwegian almost fluently too. I can also speak many other languages, but only a few sentences and phrases ;)Me as a Teacher
I focus primarily on teaching new learners and intermediate learners, but am more than happy to talk with those who are proficient like I am in Swedish too. I personally prefer having conversations with students and talking about their interests. I firmly believe that talking about the student's hobbies or what they like helps engage the student in an interesting conversation, making them want to learn more about the language. I am more that open to talk about any subjects, and am very easygoing. I believe it is only natural to make mistakes while learning, and a student should feel comfortable to do so.My lessons & teaching style
For my style of teaching, I speak in a slow and calm way, so that the student understands what I am saying, and so they can learn how to pronounce certain words. I believe that having conversations about topics that the student likes help the most, and can also use videos or books to help them learn too while we talk. It should be the teachers duty to make the student feel comfortable in the language. And that is my goal.My teaching material
