About Me

I'm a native English speaker and English teacher living and working in France. I'm also interested in Art and travelling, I've worked as an artist and a teacher for all my working life. I love the great outdoors, meeting people and learning about different cultures. I'm from England, and I grew up in the Middle East where I attended International schools where I was introduced to both Arabic and French languages. I returned to England for my higher education, where I remained until moving to France over 10 years ago.Me as a Teacher
My teaching career began in 1991 when I became an ASA accredited Swimming teacher. While continuing to teach swimming on and off for over 30 years, in the mid 1990s I sidestepped into the arts. I taught various art classes in the private and public sectors in the UK, writing training courses for the Vocational Awards International alongside private organisations.
More recently, I found myself teaching English in France which I really enjoy! I moved here in 2014, and I've since formalised my teaching of English as a foreign language with a TEFL Level 5 Diploma (168 hours+), passing with Distinction.My lessons & teaching style
I have a relaxed and friendly teaching style, creating the ideal environment for learning. I focus on he needs of my students, creating lessons to suit their aims. I favour task based learning, where together we learn chunks of language naturally, in real life 'situations' that make sense, ensuring fast learning, which is both encouraging and useful! I use a variety of materials to achieve my aims, keeping my lessons current and interesting - audio, video, images, texts, articles, blogs, quizzes, games etc..English Lessons
