Hey, my name is Karim and I'm from a Northern German Island called Föhr. After completing my master’s degree in Portuguese Literature at the University of Lisbon I decided to move back to Germany and continue tutoring on italki.Me as a Teacher
As a community tutor I task myself to offer lessons that are casual yet thorough. I want my students to not only feel comfortable in trying out new words and sentences, but also receive constructive feedback in order for them to use these new structures with confidence in future interactions.My lessons & teaching style
My lessons are divided into two thirds of speaking and on third of revision. The first phase is either a casual conversation or a discussion about topic of your liking, during which I’ll take notes on your mistakes. Based on that, I’ll then ask you to translate structures from English to German to see, if they need more clarification.
For the first lesson you don’t need to prepare anything in particular, we’re going to get to know each other better and talk about work/studies/everyday life, etc. In the lessons afterwards we can then discuss different news articles or videos that interest you. That way we can build up a varied vocabulary. I will gladly give you some pointers for resources!My teaching material

Karim is a good teacher. He is very thorough, explains things clearly and is always slowly pushing you towards the next level. He reviews and makes a note of things you have struggled with in the lesson, which I find extremely useful.
