Hailey

Hailey is an amazing Chinese teacher and was able to tailor lessons for my circumstances. I grew up speaking Cantonese and going to Chinese school until the 7th grade so I had a foundation already before deciding to learn Mandarin. I have been self-studying Mandarin and wanted to supplement my learning with a teacher. It's been immensely helpful that Hailey is able to teach in both languages because she is able to help relate Mandarin concepts back to both English and Cantonese seamlessly. Her lesson plans are structured but give enough flexibility to adjust whenever necessary. She brings a very practical approach (helping you distinguish between what is more commonly said vs formal in textbooks). I could not recommend Hailey enough to learn Chinese from, whether it's Mandarin or Cantonese.

不知不觉我跟着Haliey学了半年了，从一开始的完全听不懂，到现在基本上可以听懂，或者是容易猜到意思，老师特别的有耐心，普通话、英文说的也很好，如果有不懂的，还可以随时翻译，而且从来不迟到，有时候一聊还不小心超时，真是不好意思哈哈，而且都认真的准备教材，不是随随便便的，我觉得很推荐！

Hailey has been working with my 6 year old son for about 3 months now, and she has been very patient with him - he is easily distracted on Zoom, and does not know how to use a computer yet! Hailey uses a range of materials including images, song, and video to help him with his Cantonese speaking, and has adapted her methods to make them more effective for his learning. We highly recommend Hailey if you are looking for someone to help your child!

Hailey is a super-nice and very patient teacher. I sometimes have very little time to study because of work and she always tries to make it easy for me. I'm happy with her classes and I recommend her.
