About Me

I am a certified ESL teacher who has gained experience from working with kids, teens, and adults.
My first year was spent teaching structured grammar and vocabulary classes to groups of Chinese children. Here I learnt the importance of making new words relevant to learners as well as how to solidify grammar concepts.
Additionally, I've spent a year hosting 1-on-1 classes with learners aged 6 - 50. It was during this period that I learnt the interpersonal skills it takes to truly transform the abilities of my students.

Despite the fact that Chiv is a new teacher on italki, he is able to organize and plan out each class in ways that outshines a lot of the more experienced teachers on this platform. Based on all the classes we've had so far, I can say that Chiv is able to adapt his teaching style to the student's need. In his classes, making "embarrassing" mistakes is okay which is vital to learning practically anything. I look forward to continue learning with him.
