I’m a Swedish philosopher who just got his master degree, and right now I’m a digital nomad. Being one of those godless wretches who are too curious for their own good, I seem to have studied just about every university subject there is. Starting out in musicology, I have with inner mounting flame moved through history of ideas, theoretical philosophy, logic, Ancient Greek, mathematics and theoretical physics. During the last five years I have taught myself Italian, French, Thai and Castellano while living in Rome, Paris, Belgrade, Bangkok and Buenos Aires.

Me as a Teacher
I have worked as a private tutor in Stockholm and Paris, helping students with mathematics, physics, philosophy and Swedish. For me, the goal of all education is Bildung: the creation of an intellectually well-balanced human being.
Here’s my playlist with a mix of classic Swedish music:

Some of my favourite Swedish poets:
* Georg Stiernhielm - 17th century pioneer.
* Carl Michael Bellman - Foremost Swedish troubadour.
* Birger Sjöberg - Mad genius.
* Edith Södergran - Nietzschean muse from Finland.
* Gunnar Björling - Finnish modernist and iconoclast.
* Tomas Tranströmer - Nobel prize laureate.
My lessons & teaching style
The Albin Method has two ingredients. The first ingredient is learning through culture: find poetry and music that interests you, and then let that spur you on to constantly improve. With me you will not only grow your language; you will grow "tout court"! The second ingredient is immersion: learning Swedish IN SWEDISH from the get-go!
In practice the immersion starts by learning the most useful ”lesson phrases”, related to translation and understanding:
- Hur säger man …? (How do you say …?)
- Vad betyder …? (What does … mean?)
- Jag förstår inte. (I don’t understand.)
- Nu förstår jag! (Now I get it!)
- Ursäkta, vad sa du? (I’m sorry, come again?)

Always a thought provoking conversation with Albin. Plus I wish more teachers on Italki incorporated poetry in the lessons!

Was a very nice experience to talk with him! He respected my way of wanting to learn through conversation and didn't relie on english at all to explain swedish words to me. Will book again and can only recommend!
