About Me

Hi there! My name is Yuhan and I'm from Ningbo, China. I did my Bachelors degree in engineering and I'm currently doing a Masters in Arts and Creativities at the University of Cambridge. I love reading, cooking, painting and learning languages! I'm fluent in Mandarin (native) and English (advanced level) and I also speak a bit of French and Japanese. I'm always happy to have conversations about any kind of topics, from everyday living to hardcore philosophy!

Me as a Teacher

I worked as a part-time tutor at the Mandarin Corner back in Ningbo between 2016 and 2018 and I enjoyed helping people on their language learning journeys. I often hear people saying how hard it is to learn Mandarin but hey! You've made a big step by logging onto this website and searching for help and support. I love online learning as it really makes it possible for people around the world to help each other with their languages and share different cultures. I'm a believer of 'acting into a new way of thinking'. Open your mouth and move your muscles, you'll be surprised by how much you can exceed your expectations.

My lessons & teaching style

My lessons will be primarily conversation-based although I'm really flexible with the type of lesson I can offer. I believe that conversation is a crucial part of language learning. No matter how much you're struggling with a foreign language, you have at least acquired one language which is your mother tongue. And you did that by absorbing information through conversations. I welcome my students to practice their Mandarin with me in a comfortable and fun environment. (just between us: I love students who make a lot of mistakes!)
