I'm a creative and open-minded person with an accent and wit that is typical of Northern England. I love learning about different cultures through literature, music, film, food and travel.
With a master's degree in International Journalism, I've written professionally for a number of culture magazines and blogs, and more recently I edited a book. I've worked in various roles within music and the arts since graduating from University.Me as a Teacher
I'm a passionate and empathetic CELTA qualified teacher. I've taught students from all over the world in an online setting and have gained tangible classroom experience teaching at a community centre in Liverpool.
My experience in journalism has given me a solid grasp of the written word, gifting me invaluable tools and techniques I can impart in the classroom and my experience within music and the arts has bestowed upon me a knowledge base and skillset that allows me to create fun, interesting and vibrant lessons.My lessons & teaching style

ESOL Teacher The Florence InstituteI ran a weekly English class at a forward-thinking community centre in Liverpool's Dingle.

Culture Journalist FreelanceI have written about music and the arts for various magazines and blogs including DJ Mag, Fred Perry, Clash, Ran$om Note and Bido Lito. I also edited the highly popular 'Discotheque Archives' book last year.

Founder / Administrator Liverpool Arts LabI founded the community arts group at The Florence Institute and during two years we hosted multi-media events; created magazines, music and artwork; performed street theatre and planned a countercultural bus-tour in the Alps.

Record Label Manager Super Weird SubstanceFor five years I managed a multi-media label for touring DJ Greg Wilson. During this time I worked with musicians and artists as the label released vinyl and digital music, videos and artwork. I also helped plan a series of large scale events connected to the label.
